I have a 11 year old beagle/mut mix! He’s always been in good health other than being a little overweight. He’s recently had some type of “tumor” pop up on his ear and tongue! The one on his ear is very red and seems to be warm. Now–the heat could be because his ears are heavy! He had some tumors removed off of his chest when he was younger and they came back non-cancerous. My dad says they look alot like warts to him. The one on his tongue is flat–a little raised–and isn’t really red or anything. However, I’ve noticed him licking alot as if it were bothering him. His ears looks bad. Anyone had to deal with this?
He’s the love of my life–and I’m truely worried.

I mean, deliberately creating a mongrel then mashing the name of the parents together and calling it a ‘designer dog’. There is no thought to combining the best of a breed. Just what looks cute. At a cheaper price with no papers, no akc health clearance and apparently no thought, because it seems to be exclusively small or toy breeds. I mean you dont hear of ‘daneweilers’ or ‘doberstiffs’ do you. It just makes me so mad because its not quality its saleabilty.

my dog bella has a lot of problems that no matter how many times we punish her with the bad stuff and reward her for the good stuff, she still keeps doing stuff she’s not supposed to do. i love her to death but sometimes….. anyway, we have 3 other dogs and one of them, chipi, whenever chipi runs, bella circles her and bites her on the leg and face playfully but it really bugs me and chipi. we keep punishing her but she keeps doing it. and then, sometimes chipi gets mad and attacks her and bella fights back and then chipi gets tired and decides to stop but bella wants to keep fighting and then for the split second chipi wants to stop fighting, bella still keeps on fighting and make them start fighting all over again until someone comes to break them up. and bella also has food issues. its not with people thank god. if a person gets close to her when shes eating, she backs away to show respect. but if any of our other dogs come, even if their just passing by her, she attacks, and she won’t stop no matter how many times we put her on time out. she’s actually becoming a bad influence on one of our dogs. kilo, he’s the biggest of our dogs, but didn’t have a mean bone in his body. until bella came. he never bites, he never gets possessive over food but ever since bell came, he copied her and whenever he has a treat, he growls or barks whenever someone comes by. he’s even bit me sometimes. also, a health problem. like once a week or something, bella, pees in her sleep and its annoying because she spends 95% of the time she sleeps on the couch. it’s an old worn out couch and we’re gonna throw it out anyway so thats why we haven’t thrown her out. she sleeps there nice and sound and even snores a little and then i come over and sit next to her and see that she has peed on the couch while she was sleeping and i don’t know why or how to prevent it. there are some more problems but these are the major ones. HELP!!!!!!!!

Okay, hang with me, this is a long description.
My mother recently adopted a dog from the SPCA. No, not a dog, a demon in dog clothes. I love dogs, I don’t say that lightly at all. She’s a female Marley. She’s had her only 6 weeks, and my mother is already saying she may not keep her.
So you know, my mother has serious physical health issues. She has Lyme disease, and Fibromyalgia. She can’t get around well. Rain and cold leave her in constant pain, and she told all this to the SPCA. She said she was searching for a calm, affectionate lap dog. She had just lost two cocker spaniels to cancer and old age. She misses them badly and needs K9 companionship. She got Sophie.
Sophie is a very cute, friendly, outgoing, happy 11 month old mixed breed (beagle, maybe jack russel, maybe who knows what) puppy. And that’s all you can say that’s nice.
She bites, on purpose. She used to nibble like puppies do. Now she just plain bites. She jumps on everything. If you turn your back for even five minutes, she’s in trouble. She eats tissues, paper towels, any paper, ink pens, parts of Christmas decorations, dead birds on the street, her own poo, any poo, and whatever she can sink her teeth into. She chews on a $1000 dining room table set. She chewed the wiring for a $2000 Lazy Boy massaging couch to bits, while it was plugged in!
She used to be semi-trained, but the instant she started puppy classes it was all over. Now she refuses to listen to even what she did know, like sit, and come. She has my 7 year old nephew terrified of her. She’s even tried to bite my 8 year old nieces hair.
The problem is you feel bad for her. My mother is her 3rd home, and she’s not yet a year old. So my mother hates the idea of giving her up. But she just can’t care for her as it is now.
I’m sure Sophie is acting up partly because of lack of excercise, but I took her on a mile and a half walk, and she was still crazy at the end. She may also be resenting being passed around, but it’ll happen again if she can’t calm down.
What peeves me off the most is the SPCA foster parent. She KNEW my mother had these health problems, and KNEW Sophie was a terror and dumped her on my mother anyway. She had the nerve, when she dropped off Sophie, to say, “I’m going to go home and party with my dogs that monster dog is gone.” My mother thought she was joking. She wasn’t. That witch purposly put an unsuitable dog with an owner who couldn’t care for her just to get rid of her, because my mother has had dogs all her life. Most likely she thought my mother could sort her out. Either way what she did was cruel to the dog, who isn’t getting the excersize she needs, and to my mother, who took wonderful care of two dogs for 14 years with no problems at all.
Now she’s at her wits end. She doesn’t want to get rid of Sophie, but can’t keep her. I said that, but it bears repeating. She just needs help. I told her report the foster to the SPCA, but she needs way more help. But she can’t afford the pros, like Cesar Millan. I did check, but they’re only casting in California. Victoria, from It’s Me Or The Dog is only in LA and Atlanta. Besides, she needs help ASAP.
Can anyone out there help my mother and MarleyGirl?
