I was at work tonight, and suddenly my throat started hurting as if I was in the beginning stages of strep throat, but the pain was only on the left side of my nose and the left side of my throat. Also, the pain started at the snap of a finger. So I drank some water and nothing changed. After alot of coughing and sneezing, I spit out some of the mucus I had coughed up and it had small amounts of blood in it. About 5 days ago I visited the hospital in regards to severe migraine headaches located behind my right eye, that’s when a cat scan was done and they told me I had a nasal cyst in my left nasal area (they didn’t specify a specific location just said the left side) and to follow up with my primary care doctor (which I don’t have). At the time of the hospital visit and for months prior, I had no throat pain or nasal problems, not even a runny nose as far as I can remember, just migraine headaches on occasion which they were treating with percocet. Well tonight after the sudden pain at work, I went back to the hospital thinking maybe the cyst had burst or something, and the doctor tells me I have a sinus infection and prescribes me AZITHROMYCIN 250mg and OXYCODONE 5/325mg, and gives me some literature on SINUSITIS and PHARYNGITIS.
My question’s are:
Is it common for a sinus infections to show its symptoms out of nowhere like that?
If it was in fact a sinus infection, can it stay primarily on a certain side of the nose/throat
Could it have anything to do with the cyst?
What is a good remedy to soothe the infection on top of the prescriptions?
Thank you

-PS…I dont have health insurance =(

i have a korean jindo (very similar to the shiba inu, but slightly larger then a shiba inu) who is around 14 yrs of age. i havent seen him for a few days and today i noticed he gained a SUDDEN amount of weight. even my bf noticed that he just suddenly got fat around the chest and sides. i wouldnt say obese but defiantly a noticeable weight gain. he was never an over weight dog. now he can pass for the more robust chow chow. hes still a very active and playful dog, running around and acting like a puppy, but im very worried about this sudden weight gain and plan to take him to the vet. he doesnt seem like he’s in any sort of pain. what would a common problem for this situation be?
the annoying thing is my parents dont think its a big deal. they think its just because he is old. of coarse i know he is old and more prone to health problems and weight fluctuation, but i dont want him to suffer from some internal problem that we obviously cant see. my cat ended up with cancer because of an internal tumor so i dont want something similar to repeat.
help?

My Siamese cat suddenly died this morning. She was approximately 6-7 years old and in seemingly good health. She was sleeping next to me, rolled over on her back stretched out, when all of the sudden she went to roll on her side, and her tongue stuck out, and she breathed almost like a snort 3 times and was gone. I am very distraught. The cat seemed perfectly healthy. No problems. Does any one have any ideas as to what may have happened? How does a perfectly healthy cat just die? Very sad

hes always been a thin cat but now within a matter of a few weeks he’s just became like bone thin. We were on vacaation during those weeks but we left him plenty of food and water and he even had some left when we got home. He is 2 years old. hes never had a problem like this before or any health problems. im really worried about him so any advice will help like will this go away, do i need to bring him to a vet, or what foods are safe to give him that will help him gain weight fast. Oh and he is an outdoor cat if that means anything.
thank you so much!!

My 9 year old moggie has been acting a little down over the last couple of days. It’s only little things but she hasn’t been herself. She has always had trouble with her weight and bad breath but has otherwise had no other significant health problems. We were away over night and left plenty of food out for them but upon returning and after feeding them she was looking longer and skinnier in the face so I picked her up and she felt a lot lighter. I’m concerned it might be something serious because like I say she’s seemed out of sorts for a couple of days now. She is up to date on all her vacs.
