My cat, Kobe, is 9 years old and is a black and white Devon Rex. He’s a really long cat, sort of the cat equivalent of a Dauchsund, but is also 20 pounds. He’s adorable and sweet, but has a large belly that you can grab the fat off of. He eats basic Iams, but quite a bit of it, but also runs around the house a lot. Could he have a really slow metabolism? He’s an indoor cat, and is fixed.

Also, Kobe has dandruff, and I suspect also ADD. How can I get rid of his dandruff WITHOUT baths? (He loathes baths). And is there anything I can do to improve his focus? He is distracted by anything that shines or moves, or any noises.

Thank you so much!
-Sierra
My vet says he’ll get sick if he eats anything other than IAMS. :’(

I was conversing with co-workers and they keep there dogs outside only, never letting them in even in extreme temperatures how can that effect the dogs even when given proper provisions?

What about a topical that kills mosquitoes, would that prevent heart worm? Over time couldn’t putting toxins in a dogs blood stream eventually cause health problems? Are there any pills you can get over the counter?

I have a two year old female cat who I have had since she was a kitten, and she is having some GI issues. For about three weeks now, I have noticed her having terribly foul smelling poop. I mean…I know its poop, but this is truly offensive. She is eating a drinking normally, so I wasn’t really worried until I noticed a bit of blood in her feces and on her rectum 15 days ago. I rushed her to the vet, stool sample in hand, and they determined she did not have any parasites. They checked her anal scent glands, and found them to be empty. They gave us an antibiotic, metrodiazanole, which we gave her as directed. Problem is, we came home today after being gone a few days, and her box was full of stinky, squishy turds. I’m sorry if I’m grossing anyone out, but she is a very important part of our family, and we want to do everything we can to ensure her health. If money were no object, I would take her to the vet again they would give her and abdominal ultrasound, and run a bunch of other expensive tests. Should I wait it out? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much. Also…she does not appear to be in any pain, we havent switched her food, and she is an indoors only, spayed female.
