My vet suggested this ear medication because my dog has chronic ear infections. However I am concerned because they never even tested her ears to see what bacteria is causing the problem, and they said I would have to give her this ear stuff for the rest of her life….. I am worried that it may have bad effects on her health and I am not sure yet if I want to use it and I may return the bottle. I asked about any side effects and they said there are none, which makes me kind of suspicious because he also said I had to carefully count the drops or it may burn her ears…. how can this be safe for her if it can burn her ears??
The medication contains Glacial acetic acid 1% Boric acid 0.4% in Propylene glycol
it also says Aluminium acetate/hydrocortisone 0.5/1%
Does anyone know about these chemicals? are they dangerous? any information would be helpful as I am losing trust in my vet and I dont want to use something dangerous on my dog…
Thanks in advance for any help.

We have a 7 yr old German Shepard whos is beginning to have hip problems. We give her fish oil and a joint health supplement for dogs and it seems to help, just wondering if the calcium would also help.

I am looking at buying a pug from a breeder that currently breeds chihuahuas, english bulldogs, french bulldogs, shih-tzus, Yorkshire terrier’s and pugs. She also sells miniature horses. I know this is a huge amount of animals but she doesn’t seem to have a ton of puppies, she said they are raised in home and have a one year health guarantee, I am also planning on visiting her home / breeding grounds before purchasing a pug from her. When I figure found her pug site from the pug breeders association the dog I was interested in was $900, it has since gone to $700, and now $600. Does this mean she has seen the dog might have health problems? I really want to buy this pug but want some opinions if she would be a smart buy! Thanks!

I have been reading up on wondering what by products mean in dry or canned pet food. I have a dog and it worries me that these by products are claimed to be left overs from parts of animals not used in a slaughter house or groceries stores. Plus the added artificial flavors, vitamins, and minerals have been discovered by the agriculture department they are not even close to being suitable for a pets nutrition after doing chemical tests on dry food. To make matters worse proven tests and reports state canned food is actually euthanize dogs/cats processed with added corn/carrots/etc. Now you wonder why dog/cat food stinks when you open that bag and get that icky stinch? All and all it makes me wonder why our four legged companions are having less and less life spans than they typically average with the on going progression of diseases and cancer problems. The health problems in dogs and cats used to not be this way but it’s getting worse because of the crap that is processed in pets food. I don’t like the idea of putting food in my dogs tummy when not even able to pronounce the ingredient or understand what it is 100%.
So what is the best diet to put my dog on???
