Question by need_my_golden_retriever: Need to fly a golden retriever dog from india to USA. Is it safe for the physical/mental health of the dog.?
We will be travelling on the same flight but ofcourse my dog will be in the cargo. No direct flights but british airways has only one connection in london. India-London and london- USA. Does anynone know if dogs survive this kind of travel ? Any advices, information will be appreciated. I dont know if any specific airline is suitable for international travel with pets.

Some people are against the dry foods because of what it is made out of, so Im wondering if you make them homemade healthy meals and if its working out?

I read this:

“The best way to know what goes into your dog’s food is to make it yourself. With the recent pet food recall, many pet owners are doing just that. Though some experts argue that a homemade diet is best for dogs, this is best done temporarily until you can consult your veterinarian, as canines have definite nutritional requirements.”

What if my veternarian says NO and wants her to eat purina or Iams or something though? I wont know how much meat and veggies I need to give her, if the vet doesnt discuss it with me.

Btw, theres been a lot of trolling going around. Id appreciate that if you are going to answer, that you act like an adult and give me mature input.

If you dont agree with looking for what I believe to be healtier alternatives for the dog, DONT RESPOND. Its that simple.
Wow Johnny D. Thank you so much for respecting me and doing exactly what I asked you not to do.

This is Q&A’s about NOT feeding them dog food.

Does anybody know if “blue spa” brand canned cat food is safe for a cat who has had a urinary infection in the past? The dry brand has it’s magnesium content listed and it’s a safe level, but the canned doesn’t indicate it’s magnesium content.
Also, I just learned about a recall around last year for their products. Should I be concerned about this?

I have two cats. One was just diagnosed with a UTI. =( He’s on antibiotics. I also went and bought a bag of Purina Urinary Tract Health cat food, since I heard it’s good. I read on the website that you’re not supposed to mix it with other types of cat food. In other words, you’re only supposed to feed your cat the Purina Urinary Tract food for maximum effectiveness. So my question is, should I just put down the Purina and take up the regular food? Is it safe for me to do that?

Thanks guys! Any other tips on how to help my kitty feel better are welcome. This is his second UTI. (I think he’s stressed b/c we just moved.)

My vet suggested this ear medication because my dog has chronic ear infections. However I am concerned because they never even tested her ears to see what bacteria is causing the problem, and they said I would have to give her this ear stuff for the rest of her life….. I am worried that it may have bad effects on her health and I am not sure yet if I want to use it and I may return the bottle. I asked about any side effects and they said there are none, which makes me kind of suspicious because he also said I had to carefully count the drops or it may burn her ears…. how can this be safe for her if it can burn her ears??
The medication contains Glacial acetic acid 1% Boric acid 0.4% in Propylene glycol
it also says Aluminium acetate/hydrocortisone 0.5/1%
Does anyone know about these chemicals? are they dangerous? any information would be helpful as I am losing trust in my vet and I dont want to use something dangerous on my dog…
Thanks in advance for any help.
