school, sleep, computer work etc. It never ends
Help! I’m stuck in a routine from hell! I’m 23, live w/ my parents and am losing my mind!
I’m sort of a workoholic cuz it keeps my mind off other stuff such as:
My dog is sick.
Family health problems.
Work problems.
Girl problems.
Barely any social life.
Any clubs or groups I can join to meet more people and get more involved?
Any activities I can do to relieve stress or get my mind off these damn things!?

I have been doing a little more research on Australian Shepherds “Aussies” and have read a bit in a health care book that reads: “If we can identify the cause of the seizures, say a brain tumor or a stroke, then we say the pet has symptomatic epilepsy *Few more words* but if you can’t find the cause the seizures are then called idiopathic (or primary) epilepsy.” I obviously knew about this, but wasn’t sure on the name. Anyway, in a different book, recently published, I read that all Epilepsy is called the same thing and that there are no different words to describe this.
I am believing the more officiant book.
I’ve heard that you shouldn’t breed two Blue Merle Australian Shepherds, Border Collies or Collies together because it causes defects and more problems. I have been searching, but no website or book tells me why this is. I am just assuming that it has something to do with what Colors made the Merle and what gene they would have had to have in them to get to blue and grey Colors together, along with white and hints of tan. Am I assuming right?
Some websites have said that the Australian Shepherd was bred in California, others say it was bred else where, and registered in California. I’m not sure what to believe as the books say this as well – mixed ways and such. Where did the Aussie originate from? I know it wasn’t Australia.
And also…
Is it ok to keep an Aussie with a cat?
Will my Doberman try to pick on the Aussie? (She doesn’t like the shape of Aussies or Borders)
Is it OK to keep an Aussie if you have three dogs with it? I was thinking maybe it would pick up some of their bad habits?
Do Aussies NEED to be walked every day, or will having a run up the field with my other dogs be OK on some days?
I just need to know this as I can’t find out this stuff on sites or in books.

She was a shelter cat. Weighed 3 pounds, was estimated 6 months old, had already thrown a litter. Is very skittish, even after 4 years in home. Gets routine annual and no indication on physical exam of illness. Doctor uses minimal innoculation schedule, nasal doping when availiable.
She is drinking, eating, urinating, defecating. Eats some plants, even when salted with pepper.
What is happening at humane societies, that animals are getting adopted with so many medical problems? They always offer health insurance, but never give information to indicate need. Our Maine coon had the inherited heart condition prevelent to breed. We’ve spent $3,000 for testing. He’s stabilized. Wonderful animal, so not complaing, but it would have been nice to know the breed has problems.

My neighourhood was swarmed with stray cats lately. Some are them are obviously sick and has open wounds (from fights probably) and posed a health risk to humans. The local animal control agency was called to resolve the problem. They did a good job in catching many of the cats and putting them to sleep in a humane way. However when cat lovers found out, they made a hue and cry in the media, calling for such actions to be stopped. So what do you think, humans or animals (cats in this case) are more important? How can we co-exist ?
