Okay, hang with me, this is a long description.
My mother recently adopted a dog from the SPCA. No, not a dog, a demon in dog clothes. I love dogs, I don’t say that lightly at all. She’s a female Marley. She’s had her only 6 weeks, and my mother is already saying she may not keep her.
So you know, my mother has serious physical health issues. She has Lyme disease, and Fibromyalgia. She can’t get around well. Rain and cold leave her in constant pain, and she told all this to the SPCA. She said she was searching for a calm, affectionate lap dog. She had just lost two cocker spaniels to cancer and old age. She misses them badly and needs K9 companionship. She got Sophie.
Sophie is a very cute, friendly, outgoing, happy 11 month old mixed breed (beagle, maybe jack russel, maybe who knows what) puppy. And that’s all you can say that’s nice.
She bites, on purpose. She used to nibble like puppies do. Now she just plain bites. She jumps on everything. If you turn your back for even five minutes, she’s in trouble. She eats tissues, paper towels, any paper, ink pens, parts of Christmas decorations, dead birds on the street, her own poo, any poo, and whatever she can sink her teeth into. She chews on a $1000 dining room table set. She chewed the wiring for a $2000 Lazy Boy massaging couch to bits, while it was plugged in!
She used to be semi-trained, but the instant she started puppy classes it was all over. Now she refuses to listen to even what she did know, like sit, and come. She has my 7 year old nephew terrified of her. She’s even tried to bite my 8 year old nieces hair.
The problem is you feel bad for her. My mother is her 3rd home, and she’s not yet a year old. So my mother hates the idea of giving her up. But she just can’t care for her as it is now.
I’m sure Sophie is acting up partly because of lack of excercise, but I took her on a mile and a half walk, and she was still crazy at the end. She may also be resenting being passed around, but it’ll happen again if she can’t calm down.
What peeves me off the most is the SPCA foster parent. She KNEW my mother had these health problems, and KNEW Sophie was a terror and dumped her on my mother anyway. She had the nerve, when she dropped off Sophie, to say, “I’m going to go home and party with my dogs that monster dog is gone.” My mother thought she was joking. She wasn’t. That witch purposly put an unsuitable dog with an owner who couldn’t care for her just to get rid of her, because my mother has had dogs all her life. Most likely she thought my mother could sort her out. Either way what she did was cruel to the dog, who isn’t getting the excersize she needs, and to my mother, who took wonderful care of two dogs for 14 years with no problems at all.
Now she’s at her wits end. She doesn’t want to get rid of Sophie, but can’t keep her. I said that, but it bears repeating. She just needs help. I told her report the foster to the SPCA, but she needs way more help. But she can’t afford the pros, like Cesar Millan. I did check, but they’re only casting in California. Victoria, from It’s Me Or The Dog is only in LA and Atlanta. Besides, she needs help ASAP.
Can anyone out there help my mother and MarleyGirl?

I’ve had this problem since I was 10 years old. I’m 25 now and have been to numerous doctors and they can’t find what the problem is. I’m at my wits end! I’ve just ordered a probiotics kit from TheraBreath hoping that it will solve the problem, but the earlier products from that line didn’t work for me before so I must have an extremely stubborn case of bad breath.
It doesn’t smell like your normal poop breath. It smells like rotting cheese/milk. It also smells when I breathe out of my nose. I brush and floss twice a day, use mouthwash, go to the dentist regularly and my mouth is in perfect health. I do notice, however, that I have a very bad whitish/yellow coating on the back of my tongue that I can’t reach with a tongue scraper because of my gag reflex. Could this be the cause?
I’ve noticed that sometimes if I have very bad plaque build up and floss my teeth, the plaque that comes off smells like my bad breath.
Can anybody help me or offer suggestions besides the obvious gum, mints, brushing, flossing, etc? Because I do all of that. I’ve suffered with this problem my whole life and fear that I’m going to be an old cat lady because nobody will ever love me due to my bad breath. HELP!

My cat meows too much. It wasn’t a problem before but now that I live with 3 roommates it’s starting to get embarressing and stressful. I can’t even go out into the living room to use my computer at early hours of the day without my cat whining and meowing so loud it wakes everyone up. He is always fed, has water and has no health problems…I think he does this just because he knows it gets my attention.
All day long he will constantly (and I mean CONSTANTLY) walk around me meowing and meowing and meowing….then he will leave for about 3 mins…get bored then come back to me. I can’t use the washroom, come out of the shower…make food for myself…without him meowing…and he always does these really long meows too…and sometimes he will meow so loud his voice cracks….because he gets so exciited about the idea I might give him attention.
PLUS…I have to leave my bedroom door open all night….if I don’t…he will meow his brains out, and try to open the door with his nails.
I have owned cats all my life but this has got to stop. I don’t know what to do. It’s effecting my stress levels and my life…and my roommates don’t like it either. We never hit him. I’ve had times where I threw water at him though, because either I was feeling sick or tired. The water thing makes him run for about 7 mins…and then he just comes out and starts meowing again!
Please help!
