im 15 my mom is pregnant and my parents are divorced and live in different states. im visiting my dad for the summer and my mom told me just now on the fone that she is giving my cat away that ive had since i was 5 away. she says it isnt good for her health or the baby but ik sooo many people who have had cats during their pregnancies and i told her that and she said when you have a house and a family you can make your own rules but we are getting rid of the cat! and so i said fine if you get rid of the cat then im not coming home.
so then she told me fine w.e your cell fone is getting turned off..it’ll be off by tomorrow and dont bother coming back. so i told her if she gave my cat away i would never talk to her again and i really truley mean it because shes taking it to an adoption place where it will have 2 weeks to be bought then they’ll kill him!! i feel bad exploding on her since shes pregnant. but she doesnt have the right to just give away my cat like that!!
do you agree with me? idk what to do. all ik is that if i cant keep my cat and she gives it away then im not coming home and im not talking to her anymore.
which i dont mind because i have a very controling “step dad” not even technecally hes just my moms bf but he is ALWAYS into my buisness and thinks im some bad kid that does drugs and sleeps around which im not!! idk im sick of it! but i want to come back and live with my mom because i have great friends there and i move so much im just tired of it.
please help me!
thanks for your time. i just realy neeed to hear what other people think

My son is about to start school next week and we just got back from our parent teacher meeting. This year there is a child in school that has an allergy to nuts/tree nuts. Therefore all nut products are banned from school. No big deal, we aren’t big peanut butter eaters and my son prefers cream cheese and jelly sandwiches. So it will not be a problem at all. But this part is. The parents of this child are now demanding that we not eat any peanut products or products manufactured in a plant that manufacture nut products. These people are actually telling us how to eat in our own homes. If I want to bake a batch of chocolate chip cookies for an after school snack for my kids, I can’t. If I eat a granola bar before picking up my son from school I have to shower and change clothes. These parents are refusing any type of compromise regarding the peanut products at home.
Now there is another family saying that their child is allergic to milk/wheat, they now want to ban dairy products and wheat products from lunch.
Another parent has a child severely allergic to pet dander from cats/dogs, and want families to now put their children’s school clothing in plastic bags and also put their backpacks in bags as well so their child doesn’t get exposed to pet hair.
What are we supposed to do? I am all for protecting these kids, but is this going too far? I have two children that I am responsible for and now I’m responsible for the health and well being of all of these others. What am I supposed to do? If I send the wrong thing to school I can kill someone, and now I am responsible for that.
Do you think that maybe we should home school our children so that something they eat doesn’t kill someone? What should we do?

i have two younger siblings both under 12, but not younger than 5. One of our cats just died, she was 15. we now have a male cat, who is 5. he was very sad, but is now a very cuddley and affectionate cat. we decided we will get a dog this year, maybe in 6 months. we were thinking of a cavoodle (cavilier X poodle), because it doesnt have many problems with its health, good natured, loyal, smart, medium sized, doesnt drop much hair.
what do you think of this? and what other dogs would you suggest?
btw we are a fairly sporty family, so we are able to take it for walks sometimes, and take it down to the beach every second weekend. we also have a big backyard, and want a dog that wants to play, but can sit in a backyard for a day, if we go out, once in a while.

I have done alot of research for a very, very long time. very. i know everything you need to know about cats, and i am wishing to get one to join my family. but the only problems is convincing my family, because my parents do NOT want a cat, at all. i already have a bird i am planning on selling in a year… i had a serious talk with my parents last night, and they sent me to bed and now they don’t like it when i talk about cats. i am DYING for a cat, and i ask, HOW to convince my parents for one?
also, they keep going on and on about health, fur, cleaning..they don’t think i’m a responsible girl. HELP! i love cats :’(
