Has anyone started feeding yogurt or anything else to their dog and noticed a unexpected improvement in health?

My dog used to bite his paw and the white hair around turned pink. I started giving him yogurt every day and after about 2 weeks, his fur that has been growing in has stayed white rather than pink. (the pink is from red yeast growing in wet fur).

I am sure it’s the yogurt as nothing else has changed. Has anyone else experienced and improvement in your dog’s health as a result of feeding yogurt or anything else you were told was good for your dog?

Is It Just Me Or Is This The Craziest Thing Ever? Anyone Else Received Equally Daft Answers To Questions?

(see my previous question for more info)… I posted a question earlier today regarding peoples opinions on karma, as I’m having a pretty bad time of it lately with depression and also some physical health problems.
Now for the crazy part! – I mentioned that the family pets have been quite ill and I received an answer that the pets may be passing their illnesses onto myself via their saliva!!! The dog has a serious prostate problem (I’m pretty sure as a female, I don’t actually have one of those!)
Anyone else heard anything so daft? Or had equally daft answers to their questions?

Does Any One Else Have A Problem With Designer Dogs (crap)?

I mean, deliberately creating a mongrel then mashing the name of the parents together and calling it a ‘designer dog’. There is no thought to combining the best of a breed. Just what looks cute. At a cheaper price with no papers, no akc health clearance and apparently no thought, because it seems to be exclusively small or toy breeds. I mean you dont hear of ‘daneweilers’ or ‘doberstiffs’ do you. It just makes me so mad because its not quality its saleabilty.

Has Anyone Else Had To Deal With Child Protective Service Not Following Up On A Substantiated Complaint?

I made a complaint to Child Protective Service concerning the living conditions that my two children are forced to live in with their mother. Previously photos were taken when I obtained a court order to inspect the home in which she had 2 weeks prior notice. Upon entering the house a pungent oder of unrin & feces is noted. I took photos of a basement freezer that was loaded with rotten meat that has sat in this condition for over a year because a pipe broke and shorted out the freezer. The blood jucies were leaking from the freezer to the basement floor where maggots were observed along with piles of animal defecation. Animals living in the home (Saint Bernard & 5+ Cats). Garbage bags totaling approximately 20+ bags were noted piled up along the house that were torn into by the animals and spewed across the property, cat litter boxs were dumped onto the house decking & swept under. All the photos were turned into the court / judge previously with no outcome or action.
The furnace company refuses to enter the property until the county health department inspects the home and clears it.
C.P.S. After receiving the complaint from me got with the judge in our pending divorce case and was told by the judge that the claim was unsubstantiated? (Even with all the photos & witness statements)C.P.S. Contacted me and informed me of what the judge had said and also sent me a letter of there investigation which consisted of walking to the judges office. They were even gracious enough to read a report from a deputy sheriff that followed up on a previous complaint filed by? months before mine. It stated that the reporting deputy made contact with (Soon to be ex) who stated that she was going through a divorce and I previously started a argument with her, so I was making false accusations (Problem is I never filed that complaint and recently found out it was her mother).

Does This Sound Like A Dog Allergy Or Something Else?

Ok so I have a dog, and I’m not allergic to him at all when I’m around him. He spends the day within petting distance of me, and I dont sneeze, I dont cough, no runny eyes or itchy throat or nothing. When I’m around the dog I’m perfectly fine. Now my dog is not allowed in the kitchen or the bedrooms of my house. At night when I’m sleeping I’ve got this issue where it feels like my throat is closing up and I have a hard time breathing. I take allergy pills and afterwards I feel fine, but am curious as to why I am having this problem. Like I know I’m allergic to cats because whenever I’m around a cat my eyes water up, I start sneezing and my nose starts to run. But I’m in perfect health when around my dog. Does anyone know whats going on with me? Like right now its day time and I’m not having any problems breathing. So trying to figure out why at night when I’m not around the dog I am having this problem. Does this sound like a dog allergy or something else? Also if it is a dog allergy, what can I do to fix this problem without getting rid of my dog? (Not getting rid of my dog)

Am I Being Cruel Or Is Everyone Else Over-reacting?

OKay, I have a cat which I got as a kitten 16 years ago. She has lived with my mum since I moved out 5 years ago but remained very much MY cat with me paying for her upkeep.
Recently my mum called and announced she was having her put to sleep. Being that the cat is 16 I guessed that her health must’ve gone downhill since I saw her last a month ago and said okay.
Chatting about the cat the day before she was due to be put to sleep, I asked was she losing weight? Not eating? Incontinent? Fitting? Lethargic etc and to each question, the answer was “no, of course not.” So I asked what was specifically wrong with her to which my mum replied “Well she’s blind isn’t she?!”
We had known she was blind for a few months and it had never been a problem for my mum until now but I think that the real reason was that my mum was moving house and didn’t want to take the cat to the new place.
Despite my rented house being “no pets” I talked to my landlord and brought the cat home to live with me and my family and so far, the cat seems to be perfectly happy about it. She is still in very good health despite being blind (or partially sighted as I have observed her walking around without coming in contact with any surface!)
She finds her lunch bowl, water and litter tray without fuss and she never stops purring. She even snuggles up to or follows around my 2 year old daughter – and I’ve never met a cat who actually LIKES kids! lol
Now my mum, sister, and other family members say I’m being cruel “keeping her alive” but I truly don’t believe that so I guess my question is, should I kill an otherwise healthy, happy cat because she’s blind? Is it so bad for a cat to be blind? What do you guys think?

Is This An Anxiety Disorder Or Something Else- Please, Please Help?

Problem: I’m so extremely nervous and anxious about going out in public and having to interact with others that I’ve not made a single new friend or gone out with anyone since starting college almost three years ago. I avoid social situations if at all possible. The only friends I’ve made are people I’ve met online and chat with- and I realize that’s pretty sad. Most of my life is spent at home.
I also worry constantly, about EVERYTHING, for no reason at all- weather, cats, family, friends, school, my health, war, possibilites of disaster, etc. I’m paranoid about having people mad at me or hurting their feelings, and if I think thats the case I get depressed. My constant worrying truly interferes with my life and makes it hard for me to be happy, or even content. My family brushes it off as a quirk, but I think its a disorder. Is it, and is it treatable? I’m unhappy and I hate worrying, but I can’t make myself stop. Please give me some serious and helpful advice!

What Else Can I Do When My Cat Stops Using The Litter Box?

I know the exact reason why he stopped using the litter box. In fact, it seems that people only know the reasons why; not ‘what to do’. We moved (a year ago) and added a new member to our family (5 months ago). What can I do to prevent him from defecating on the floor? We have already purchased another litter box, we’re showering him with more attention then he’s ever gotten, we’ve even moved the litter boxes into the rooms where he’s using the floor. There isn’t a medical problem with him because he’s been to the vet more times than I’ve been to the doctor for my own health. He’s driving me nuts right now. Thank God he still uses the litter box to urinate.

Pot Luck – Does Anyone Else Have A Problem With This?

You know, people (sometimes people that you don’t know) make a dish at home and bring it in, and then you are supposed to eat it. Perhaps I’m a germaphobe, but I don’t know how clean their kitchen is or if they have a cat that walked across the countertops as they were making it, and licked at it. You know?
I have trouble eating in pot luck situations. I logically understand that restaurants can have germs and non-hand washers, but it does give me some peace of mind that they have reputations and health inspectors to deal with.
Anyone else?
