Question by Darkwraith: Worried about health for a dog that eats junk.?
Ok I live with some people who have a Daschund that is quite a bit fat and I am worried somewhat. She only eats dog treats and too large a diet of American cheese and some cheetos.I don’t think it really eats any regular dog food so I don’t know how bad she could get with health aspects. Can a dog live just on all i mentioned and not get really bad when aged 7?

Too much salt and fat content.
It can’t be healthy for the dog.

Question by The Truth Hurts! Ouch!: Are there any health/safety risks associated with a dog that eats acorns?
Our 4-month old puppy eats acorns, and short of taping his snout shut, there’s nothing we can do to stop him because we have 3 acres of oak trees. He has food available, and eats it when he’s hungry, but he gnaws on acorns all the time and I’m pretty sure he’s trying to eat them, shells and all. Have any of you had experience with this?

If my dog ate acorns I would be concerned that it could cause a bowel obstruction. He may be looking for something to chew on, give him a raw bone a couple of times a week. Best wishes.

Our dog seems only to eat the cat’s food. The cats like the dog’s food. Besides the humorous irony, any health issues for the animals?

I don’t know her medical history, and I want to make sure she gets important nutrients.
