Is there a dog (mixed or pure) that is similar to a Boxer but that doesn’t have the inherent health issues or the drooling issue? I specifically like the personality, size, coat (short and low shedding) and general look of the boxer.

No breed will fit what you are looking for, sorry. Every breed will have common health concerns and genetic defects. To bring a dog into your life that may be clear of these defects, you will need to purchase a purebred Boxer from a responsible breeder that has their dogs health screened prior to each breeding.
Here are some websites on responsible breeders, what to look for and how to find them;

No matter what, there will always be a chance that your Boxer could live seventeen years, or just four years. My family lost our Boxer mix to a tumor that was near her heart, it burst and resulted in a heart attack, there would have been no way of knowing because she had a clean bill of health and was fine to the very day she passed in her sleep, and there would have been no way to save her life, and of course there was no telling how long that tumor had been around, the poor dog was only 6 years old and she would have been 7 years old this month.
A friend of ours lost his Boxer x Greyhound mix to bone cancer. He is apart of a Boxer rescue and even a purebred Boxer he adopted from the rescue ended up with a cancerous tumor which resulted in death, sadly. Luckily he still has his other purebred white Boxer, who was also rescued like the other two, and hopefully she will live for many more years.
Purebred or mixbreed, things like this happen all the time, and it is awful. As a dog owner, you will have to understand this if you want to bring a dog into your home.
If you do not want to purchase from a good breeder, just give it a shot and adopt a homeless Boxer or Boxer-look-alike dog that needs a home;

And as for the drooling, if you want a molosser, you’re just going to have to live with it unless you somehow happen upon a “dry mouth” Boxer.
