Omega-3 Improves Your Pet Health

hi me and spike are back at the vets again today for more jabs for his pee problem he has been visiting every week since new years day apart from costing a bloody fortune hes not getting better he is on loads of stuff and still bleeding i have been reading about raw diets which cant be brought in the uk, but im sure i can find a good butcher, does anyone feed raw diets that might help my poor old cat and my wallet, (money is not the issue here my spikes health is) is it worth mentioning to my vet before he gives him more pills and potions.

I’ve seen this many times on many different forums. There always has to be a debate about what type of diet people feed their pets.
Almost everyone seems to think that their way is right. Whether it be a BARF (Bones And Raw Food), home-made food, gourmet kibble, or cheap kibble. If someone chooses to feed something else, then they aren’t a very good owner.
Are you a pet owner like this? Why do you think your pet’s diet is the right diet?
My own personal opinion: I feed my pets cheap stuff. Why? Because I have seen firsthand how in the factory the “gourmet” food goes down one conveyor belt and the “cheap” food goes down another. It is the same food in a different bag.
This is done with human food, pet food, clothes, etc. Almost all large companies put out an “expensive” brand and a “cheap” brand. It even comes in the same delivery truck to the grocery store.
My pets also get table scraps. I use my common sense when offering these. They get leftover meats and vegetables.
I think the diet that I feed my pets is just fine. I have 3 cats (10 years, 9 years, 7 months) and 1 dog (7 years). No one has had any health problems so far and they go to vet annually.

That this food is over priced, cleverly marketed low quality food??
Every time I read somebody ask “what is a good food” there are always 2-3 people who suggest Science Diet (or Iams which is also junk) – it shocks and horrifies me…

* Corn is a cheap filler of low digestabilty AND it appears TWICE!!!!!!
* Chicken Liver Flavor – What the heck is that???
THERE IS NO MEAT IN THIS ENTIRE FOOD – Cats are TRUE CARNIVOURS!!!!
Vets were PAID to endorse this food – Vets are PAID to sell and promote this food
Vets receive little or NO training on food brands or ingredients
so………. Why are YOU promoting it??

I have been reading up on wondering what by products mean in dry or canned pet food. I have a dog and it worries me that these by products are claimed to be left overs from parts of animals not used in a slaughter house or groceries stores. Plus the added artificial flavors, vitamins, and minerals have been discovered by the agriculture department they are not even close to being suitable for a pets nutrition after doing chemical tests on dry food. To make matters worse proven tests and reports state canned food is actually euthanize dogs/cats processed with added corn/carrots/etc. Now you wonder why dog/cat food stinks when you open that bag and get that icky stinch? All and all it makes me wonder why our four legged companions are having less and less life spans than they typically average with the on going progression of diseases and cancer problems. The health problems in dogs and cats used to not be this way but it’s getting worse because of the crap that is processed in pets food. I don’t like the idea of putting food in my dogs tummy when not even able to pronounce the ingredient or understand what it is 100%.
So what is the best diet to put my dog on???

Due to my pom, Sam-2 years old, and his sprain. Our bet is that he is over weight and those extra pounds put too much pressure on his body, pulling somthing. Now I will stress a check up (And I think I’m winning),
but to help his weight problem, all of my family has to change..
I know WE have to stop throwing them scraps and giving them too many treats. And we are going to Wal-Mart asap to buy bowls for each along with a health bed and diet food. But our only snag is, how much do we feed a pom that age (he and his sister are the same age). And what can we do with them that helps them exercise that’s easy for us to do with them?
Plus, the same question goes for my cat. Spoiled rotten cat whos around 3 years old and eats dog food? (I know, I have strange animals)
