I have five cats, three female and two male. One of my adult females is extremely antisocial, toward the other cats and to most of the people in the house. Actually, the only person she likes is my husband. All of my cats have run of the house, (Baby Smokey finally learned the litter box thing), but Natasha stays upstairs all day and night, coming down only rarely to eat, then running back upstairs to hide. When any of the other cats come near her, she hisses and runs away. She’s been acting like this since her kittens weaned. I’m worried because she’s starting to lose weight, and I think she might be a bit malnourished, but not due to us not feeding her, she just doesn’t like to come down to eat. What can we do to fix her attitude problem?

My dog does not do much physical activity, and had always had a narrow end since puppy hood. Ive tried switching his food several times, but he still has not gained weight, and sometimes gets sick from different kinds of foods. He eats food fine, and has a strong appetite. He doesn’t have worms or any health problems…is there a recipe that i can make for him that will help him put on a few pounds? Please help!

“Iams also buys “purebred” litters, thus encouraging the breeding of purebreds, despite the fact that such dogs and cats are more prone to suffer health problems.” http://www.iamscruelty.com/iams-feat-cag…
What do you think?

I’ve had an outdoor cat for the last couple months, it was just a kitten that wondered up to my doorstep, and i’ve been taking care of it ever since. It’s been in good health up until now. But lately (for the last two days) i’ve noticed a massive amount of green mucus around it’s eyes and even some crust on it’s nose. I’ve wiped both off repeatedly and was sure to wash my hands afterwards, seeing as I have many indoor animals. At first I assumed that the mucus was just because of it’s life outside, the dust and all, but it’s a large amount and i’m worried. It’s still eating and drinking like normal, by the way. The other outdoor cat that lives around it doesnt have these problems. Do you have any idea what’s wrong/or what I can do?

You know, people (sometimes people that you don’t know) make a dish at home and bring it in, and then you are supposed to eat it. Perhaps I’m a germaphobe, but I don’t know how clean their kitchen is or if they have a cat that walked across the countertops as they were making it, and licked at it. You know?
I have trouble eating in pot luck situations. I logically understand that restaurants can have germs and non-hand washers, but it does give me some peace of mind that they have reputations and health inspectors to deal with.
Anyone else?
