You said the petS had been ill… petS… focus on the ‘S’ – plural!
Therefore, it is feesable that you could catch something they have through their saliva.
This person didn’t actually state ‘your dog has passed his prostate problem on to you’… they just gave a general comment about your petS, and it is true, in some cases, that humans have caught their pets illnesses from their saliva.
Don’t be so hard on them.
And everyone gets daft answers on questions… you just learn to ignore it!

We didn’t say depression could be passed through saliva – you’re reading all the wrong information, here.
You commented on ill animals – someone mentioned that their saliva could make you ill (which it can) – but nobody said that the DEPRESSION could be passed on this way. Just illnesses in general.
If you want to compare depression, or talk in length about it – I suggest you either get on MSN with me or see a doctor. But stop asking people on a public forum then not expecting stupid answers or answers that you understand.
No one is saying you ‘caught’ depression through saliva – it’s not possible. But that wasn’t your question, now, was it?

Honestly I could go on and on about how much I hate PETA
They really need to get a life and do some damn research……..
Add: You want to know whats funny? The lady held up a sign that said “Breeders Kill Shelter Dogs’ Chances,”
Too bad PETA killed 2,216 shelter animals in 2008.

I agree with you. I own a showdog, and most showdogs are treated better than many humans. It’s not the fault of responsible breeders (who breed dogs for shows, and find good homes for the pet quality dogs they have), its the fault of irresponsible pet owners and puppy mills. People should spay and neuter their pets if they aren’t for showing purposes. Some guys want “manly” dogs, OH COME ON!!! Please! We don’t need more puppies in shelters. Females should be spayed, too. Some people’s excuse is that it would hurt too much. It probably hurts less than birthing multiple litters. Purebreds are not mutants, and neither are mutts. Both purebreeds and mutts are awesome, they can both be loyal and sweet, no matter what they are. And there aremany purebreds in shelters. PETA’s anger was definiely misplaced. I ? ALL dogs, no matter what breed or breeds they may be.

Canidae, Chicken Soup are decent foods that are usually less expensive than the ones that have grains, soy and filler.
EDIT TO ADD: real meat “meals” are good!! They are meat, minus the water.

If money is an issue, Canidae would be your best bet. It is one of the better dog foods out there, but is considerably cheaper than Innova Evo, Merrick, Eagle Pack, etc…
http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com has extensive ratings for dog foods and explains why each rated the way it did. I suggest that you check it out. Kibbles and bits is…..bad.
