I Purchased A Show Dogo Argentino Dog From Julie Brungard Aka Genius Dogos Can I Show My Dogo With No Papers?

I have a Dogo that I want to show just for fun but I have no papers. I purchased my Dogo Argentino from Dogo breeder Julie A Brungard of Genius Dogos Argentinos for top dollar as a show dog. Julie promised UKC papers & health guarantees but I never got any. I found out later my dog is badly inbred plus has health issues so I would never breed my dogo but I still want to show her for fun. What should I do? Can you show a dog some how with out pedigree papers? I know her litter mates are shown because I just looked at Julie’s site & it says my dogs brother GR CH Anthos Of Genius is number 1 dogo 08. I hope she doesn’t breed Anthos Of Genius because he is from the same inbred litter as my dog. The parents are basically the same as HALF brother & sister as a result my dog has health problems. I didn’t even know that breeders were aloud to inbreed that close. Let me know if any of you know a way to show her. It does have to be for a Championship or any thing big like that. Thanks, Ang

You should be able to show your dogo in pet events with UKC, go to this link: http://www.ukcdogs.com/WebSite.nsf/WebPages/DogWhatKindsOfShows . Julie Brungard is not a reputable person to buy a dogo from. I breed Mastiffs & Julie is also into Neapolitan Mastiff or was. She is very trailer trashy & a unrepeatable breeder. Julie Brungard kept huge Neapolitan Mastiffs in tiny apartments with no room for years. So first I would say you should be much smarter who you ever adopt a puppy from! DO RESEARCH BEFORE YOU SEND ANY ONE MONEY. You should have asked Julie Brungard for references she probably doesn’t have any good ones. If you find any negative information move on to the next breeder. Contacting the national breed club is always a good idea. If you had done your research first you probably would have found a good breeder not Julie Brungard GENIUS Dogo Argentinos. If were you I would post fraud alerts on the Internet to warn others not to buy a Dogo from Genius Dogo Argentinos! You could also place a BBB complaint if you want & try to get your papers that way.

If you want to show in conformation, yes, you need papers. However, if you dog is not of breeding quality, you won’t do well in conformation anyway.
It should be possible to show in obedience and agility. I have shown mixed breeds that way. Contact the UKC and ask them. With limited papers, you should be able to compete in these venues.
Good luck.

The American Kennel Club requires all dogs to have papers for showing. You not only need papers, but you need it to be full registration rather than limited registration.

You cannot show in certain rings w/out papers. But you can do fun things like agility trials.

only in fun shows like for mutts or such
AKC only accept dogs who have national KC papers
how in all did you fall for such a scam, the breed is illigal in UK the chanse of her having UKC papers would be next to none, and even if her dog was UKC registrered she wouldnt be able to registrer new ones there as there is an import ban, so even if she imported a dog from UK, she would have had to reregistrer it to AKC, so she could give the puppies AKC papers
sorry but she totaly lied to you, and scamed you, next time please do a little more research (as i am sure you learned by now), and i dont mean that in a negative way, i just think its a shame to get tricked like this…its not something i wish upon anyone.
edit
ah found it, UKC as in united, ie another non national US registry. well that changes mather, at any rather its still a secondary registry. You shouldnt aim to buy purebreed dogs unless they are registrered with the National KC, in US this is AKC. And who know in such secondary registrys they have less strict rules to adhere to then national KC’s, no sertainly it wouldnt be allowed in a national KC to inbreed that close. I am sorry to hear about your loss. If you got a contract on it all, i’d take it to court if it mathers, but in all reality that dog aint breedable, and without AKC parents it will never be registrable for AKC, and wont be able to be shown on their shows.
In US they have more low key shows just for fun, where you can even show mutts, just look around and see if you cant find one, if just for fun. The prize’s wont mather in comparason to real KC shows, but as you said the dog cant be breed, and as just a funside activety *s*
here is a link to such a type of showhttp://www.oregoncoast.org/mutts/index.p…

I’m sorry to hear that, some people just breed for the money and don’t care about the breed it self, review the actual standard of the breed an you will find out that some of her actual show dogs are consider pet quality on the standard of the Dogo, you are not able to show a dog if has no papers, but if you have a contract or anything that can support the health guaranty you can provably do something about, you can also go to dogo.org (Dogo argentino club of america) and discuse your situation in there and they can assist you more, so you can stay far from breeder with bad reputation.

It seems Julie Brungard is starting a puppy mill. She probably didn’t send you papers because she didn’t want you as competion. I looked at her site & her dog Genius Anthos or GR CH Anthos Of Genius is very inbred (his pedigree is listed on her photo pg). It looks like she is getting him high ranked by showing him against his poor quality litter mates probably just so she can sell puppies from him. Breeders like this are pure selfish! You should report to the Dogo Club of America what she did to you & that this dog GR CH Anthos Of Genius bred by Julie or Genius Dogos Argentinos is inbred so others wont breed to him! It is funny because she calls her dogs genius but they are so inbred how could they even be smart?
On the good side I saw more pedigree slips on her photo pg so maybe if you take her to small claims court you can still get your papers??
