-less health problems
-could get along w/ other pets (whether dog or cat)
-is ok if ever there will come a time that it will be left home alone for quite a period of time

Here is some info on both of them.
    Persian:http://animal.discovery.com/breedselecto…
    Siamese:http://animal.discovery.com/breedselecto…
Or maybe a Himalayan cat, a mix between the twohttp://animal.discovery.com/breedselecto…

Pure siamese cats are screwy. Personality wise, unless you are very very lucky, they’re totally nuts. Tempermental. Persian cats are a bit fluffier with their fur so they’re tough to groom, but can be very sweet.
They both have their problems health wise if they are purebred. You might get some sort of mix that has the outward appearance of your preferred cat. and both being cats, generally have no problem being left alone. The best advice is to use discretion in choosing a cat to make sure you get one with a personality that suits your life style, and that will be compatible with your other pets. Take time in choosing it. I would reccomend getting one that is still a kitten kitten, because their personalities tend to change and develop as they grow, and you will not know until they’re older if they’re easy or hard to feed, or ok with being home alone, or friendly.
    Good luck!

I would say siamese, simply because in my opinion they have more of a personality. They are extremely sweet, average amount of health problems, they get along fine with others, they’re fine on their own (provided they have their necessities of course), they do meow a lot and I mean A LOT when its food time, they’re extremely intelligent, and they get along well (for the most part) with other people.

I would choose a Persian. We currently have 2 Himalayans and 2 Persians. The Persians are very affectionate and get along well with other cats and people.

siamese cats are loving but they can be a pain so I prefer to get a persian cat because they are more loving and they are not a pain.

IMO a Siamese is a lot easier to care for and more people oriented and playful then a Persian.
    I prefer shorthairs anyway :)

Siamese can be kinda fiesty. I’d say persian.

    Siamese Cats look very ugly

I prefer persian cats. We used to have one and she was really loving. She was very friendly to others too :)

You should get to “mutt” cats. Purebred cats don’t have specific traits, differences may be coats, colors, sizes. Maybe certain breeds are a bit more energetic or a bit more talkative, but breed certainly does not determine how affectionate they’ll be or how well they’ll get along with other cats.
For instance, my boyfriend has two Domestic Shorthairs, they need to groom their cats more often than my Aunt has to groom her Himalayan.
Consider adopting two cats from a shelter, they’ll come fixed, tested & vaccinated & you’ll be saving two lives. There is no reason to buy a cat from a breeder, you’ll spend a lot of money & in most cases, the cat won’t come with its necessary vet work.
I work in a shelter & often see Siamese mixes, Persian mixes, even Domestic Longhairs, sometimes we even have purebreds. Millions of cats are homeless & millions of cats will be euthanized each year because they couldn’t find a home. A purebred isn’t prettier or healthier than any other cat from a shelter. If you’re putting so much thought & doing so much research on these breeds, you should do your research on how many helpless kittens die due to people assuming purebreds are better.
Edit: Understandable. I don’t know why I’m getting so many thumbs down for bringing useful information to the table. Perhaps every person who gives me a thumbs down should be 17 years old, such as myself & see animals put to sleep, work with animals who got a second chance at life & foster kittens & puppies back to life. What country is this exactly, that there’s only one known shelter? No matter what, good luck. Especially finding a breeder if shelters are hard to come by :) !

i’d go for a persian or a main coon
    i own 2 main coons
    both great cats!!
main coons are very good with kids, very playful..
    HUGE cats..
my boy main coon cat oscar it 2 years old and 18 pounds.
they don’t stop growing or maturing till there about 5 years old.
they love getting into the trash though..
they rather a crumbles up piece of foil vs. a toy
very love able, they are followers..they will fallow you where ever you go. they rather fallow you all over than you love on them
you have to be careful about what food you get them or they get mad diarrhea.
love, LOVE to be around other animal..at times they will get lonely without a friend to play..
you can leave them home for long periods of time
very Smart…they answer to hang signals..
and you will know if you picked the right name because they will respond quick to it and continue talking to find what you want..
they have no problem getting snuggling in bed..
