Do Chocolate Labradors Have Many Health Problems?

I was thinking of getting a Chocolate Labrador but I was wondering if they have many health problems. Such as skin problems (cancer) or bone problems that are common to these dogs.

Find a reputable breeder because they guaranty their dogs for 24 months to be fro om from defects. They go through all the health screenings before they breed. There is no different in color to what genetic problems can pop up. You should really study the breed before deciding on buying any dog. That way you are ready for everything even their temperaments.
Labradors are prone to skin allergies, hip dysplasia, and eye problems. That is why you want to make sure to get one from a reputable breeder.

Labs are commonly related to joint problems (as are german shepherds and retrievers etc. – seems to be a common problem with most large dogs). They are also prone to becoming overweight if they don’t get enough excercise which just increases the risk of them getting joint problems.

I know they are prone to hip dysplasia. By the way, the color of the dog doesn’t mean it’s a different breed. Just in case you didn’t know.

hip dysplasia is the most common problem with Labs.
