My older female is 2 1/2 years old and fixed. My younger female is 8 months old and not fixed but they are VERY close. Today my husband accidently stepped on my younger female paw (happens all the time) and my older cat got really mad. Mad to the point that all of a sudden the 2 got into a MAJOR cat fight. We now have the older one in a kennel that I have attatched to a very large box so she can have her litter, food, water, and a few toys to comfort her. But we dont know what could have happened. She is acting like she is mad at the world. No one can go near her at all now. Since the vets are all closed today, what else can I do for her? I was able to examine her to check for blood (didnt find any) but we used really thick gloves for that. Im so worried. She is my baby girl. This has me in tears. She is in good health and was in a really good mood until that point. The younger cat is now scared to death as well.
Please help. Serious replys only please.

It sounds like she got pretty hurt and is in pain. Take her to the vet tomorrow, they’ll figure it out. Just try to make her comfortable and know that you are doing all you can. It will be OK. Don’t try to do anything yourself if she’s so upset she’s frantically clawing, it will just make it worse.
Also, comfort your other kitty, they’re probably upset too.

I had four cats all who lived in relative peace for about three years. One day, a fight broke out after I had accidentally sat on one of them. Two of the other cats, then singled out the one cat I sat on and picked on her everyday to the point where she quit eating, lost her hair and wouldn’t come out from under the bed. I talked to the vet and did everything I could, but ultimately, cats are solitary animals and sometimes, once the peace is disrupted, there is nothing you can do about it. I ended up having to find the singled out cat another home (my mom took her). She is actually quite happy there and my other three cats are happy as well. It broke my heart, but ended up for the best.
The only thing I can tell you to try is something called “Feliway.” PetSmart or your vet should have it. It’s a feline pheromone that calms them down. Use that according to the directions on the bottle and then try to get your cat out of the box. If that doesn’t work, I am sorry, but you may have to find a new home for the cat where it can be by itself.

It sounds like she got extremely scared when the younger one got hurt and she is really stressed out right now. Until you can get her to the vet, keep her separated in a room and just leave her be and let her relax.
And tell your husband to start watching where he walks.

well….u know how girls get mood changes when we get our THING….. well maybe your cat is on heat or it is mating season….if it is mating season i guess she is being territorial….cats get really jealous when it is mating season….. so make sure there are NO male cats around until next month ok? so just keep them sepparated for a while and then maybe try putting them together agen next week….oh and that box thing is a good idea for your older cat but please make sure that u can get her outside of the box for a walk around at least 3 times a day… ok? hope i helped…..i usually do! chiao

Soon two cats grow appart. At first my two VERY AGGRESIVE cats got in fights all the time before they were fixed. Then when they were fixed they were ok for awhile and then a year later not to long ago they got into a fight. They soon just become enimies. Its just all cat stressed kinda lol but we get stress to. Maybe hes getting old, or hes not getting enought attention.
PS: Dont check for blood everytime becasue cats fur protects they from that if they get into a fight.

The older cat got mad because dad stepped on younger cat’s foot.If the youngster cried out maybe the older cat took it wrong and got mad.She may be stressed and that just pushed her over the edge.Boy hope she doesn’t have to be put down.

it’s possible that the older cat stayed in shock with the younger cat screaming after being stood on!
With the older cat being a little scared, she automaticlly attacked the younger cat, and now it’s possible she is feeling bad about attacking the younger cat, but also scared of you punishing her! thats maybe why she is mean when u go towards her! Either that or she is scared that your husband is going to stand on her!
And u should tell your husband to be more careful when walking round the house…. cats are very sencertive, and can become very scared..!!!

It is possible that she has a urinary tract infection, which can be looked at in regular office hours. Make sure that she has PLENTY of water (more than usual) at all times, and don’t keep after her for attention. If she has it, she’ll be unruly until seeing the vet, and needs as much rest as she can get. But, if she’s all better tomorrow, then it was just irritability.
