How To Stop A Dog From Peeing In The House?
Posted by: Alan in Dog Health Problem, tags: From, House, Peeing, Stop
I have a black lab who is about 10 years old, great health, and very active. The only problem is that she pees in the house; she was diagnosed with having a weak bladder, as many older dogs have. She was given medication for it, but it doesn’t seem to help. The peeing happens pretty randomly, mostly when shes lying down and it happens at least more than once a day. Does anyone know of any foods or other medications that could help cure this? Any ideas? Thanks!

I have my dog, a dane, in training right now. the first week of training they told us that to help with the accidents in the house YOU have to be vigilant. take your dog out every hour, for at least 5 minutes. Take a super tasty treat in your pocket and every time your dogs goes outside(wait till he’s done), reward him, make a super huge party of it ( give tasty treats, bounce with him, praise him) It will make him WANT to potty outside, so even if he feels a twinge he may indicate he needs to go out.
Don’t put pee pads down. NEVER make it okay to potty in the house. And remember, unless you actually catch him in the act, punishing him doen’t teach him anything. Dogs have a VERY short attention span. Literally 30 seconds later he won’t know what he’s in trouble for. even if you bring him to the scene of the crime, he still won’t know. But he will learn that the happy happy praise and super tasty treat only come when goes outside.

Hi,
Some dog owners fear that urinary incontinence is a natural result of aging and delay taking their dog to the veterinarian. While many dogs do develop age-related problems, there are many other causes to consider too. Urinary incontinence is easily treated, and the medications are not expensive, so the sooner you get your dog to the veterinarian, the better. When none of the traditional medicines work for urinary incontinence, there are surgical options available: colposuspension and cystourethropexy

You could try going to the vet again (or maybe another better one?) or get your lab a doggy diaper.
My dog doesn’t have this problem (guess I’m just lucky)
but if you wanna train your door, you could use the Bruce Almighty method (:
Happy trying!
