1. Millions of dogs live their whole lives in pounds.
2. Millions of dogs every year are put to sleep because there is not enough food or space to take care of them.
3. Just two dogs or cats can produce 4000 more animals every 5 years. (i mean with their offspring producing as well)
4. If you don’t take proper measures when breeding (perfect health, genetic testing, registration etc.) the pups can turn out to have problems, or faults to their breed.
5. Even if you only have one dog and think you don’t have to fix it, it could escape and breed or a dog could wander into your property and get/get it pregnant.
6. There are plenty of puppies in pounds. And half of those puppies might not even be adopted, spend their whole lives in the pound kennel, then get euthenized.

  1. UHave2Be says:

I don’t “fix” all my dogs because I EDUCATE myself about the long term health risks it has. I actually care about my pets having a long and healthy life. http://www.naiaonline.org/pdfs/LongTermH…http://veterinarynews.dvm360.com/dvm/Art…
I also have never had an accidenetal OR planned litter. It is not rocket science to own an intact animal.
I also do not support “unprofessional breeding”
I also do not support PETA like animal rights beliefs.

Is this a question or are you bragging because you know you’re doing the right thing? This aggravates me, that people need to brag on the internet to make themselves feel good.
To answer your question, no, you’re not the only one.
@Uhave2Be, My pup, and previous dogs, are intact also. It amazes me how irresponsible people are, because you are right, owning an intact dog is not rocket science.

  3. Ernest says:

No you are not the only one nor are you ignorant or bragging. I understand your frustration. More days than not those same thoughts have erupted when I see the truly ignorant braggarts ‘owned animals vs. pets’ suffer. I live in a town with no leash law so these problems are obvious with every glance out the window.

    Hi,
Females get the spay surgery, which removes the ovaries and uterus, and will keep your dog from getting pregnant while a neuter surgery removes a male dog’s testicles and will keep your dog from impregnating another dog.
Here’s more info about the matter:http://dogtime.com/spay-neuter.html
    Hope this helps.

  5. arial39 says:

yep, youre the only one in the world, the rest of us are out here breeding dogs left and right, just because we can. (ill point out here that this ias sarcasm because anyone who would ask such an ignorant question probably wouldnt figure it out on their own)

  6. Rockelle says:

I think it is selfish to fix dogs that people actually want to have puppies, full breed dogs.
how would you like it if i cut your balls off just because i think humans have too high of a population.
    really, get a life.

You haven’t been in this section very long, have you? The majority of us here; including myself fix our dogs and do no support byb’s.

  8. SHOW BREEDERS SELL MUTANT PUPS. says:

unprofessional breeding?what do you call professional breeding?a person that parades their dog around in a show ring to get best in show?$50,000 in prize money is not professional it’s greed…inbreeding linebreeding and selective breed is the reason health test are required…i don’t breed for show so i don’t inbreed line breed or selective breed…i don’t blame myself for the millions that die in shelters each year because i was’nt the owner that put them there…

  9. Owned by a Bichon says:

No lots of people fix their dogs. I got my dog neutered last year and he had a severe complication due to infection, so I will never recommend spaying or neutering to anyone else. I almost lost him. I regretted this very very much. There was never a chance for my dog to immpregnate another dog, so it was really dumb of me to give in to the pressure of people who blindly push pet owners into putting their pets in danger with major surgery. Rather than preaching about spaying and neutering, people need to encourage people not to breed when they don’t know what they’re doing. And they need to be made aware of the overpopulation of pets so that they think before they breed their pets.
