Firstly, you need to make up your mind about what kind of dog you want. Secondly, the breeds you have listed as your choices will cost you several hundred dollars to purchase. Thirdly, all of these breeds require frequent grooming which will cost you anywhere from $20-$50 every 6-8 weeks. Are you sure you want one of these breeds?

  2. greekman says:

Several thousand dollars in vet bills because you wrongly believe that the cuckapoop you want is healthier then a pure breed dog.

yorkies and maltese are pure bred and l do not think buying a purebred has a lot of health problems. l am not sure that mutts have that many health problems that is the chance that a person takes when they get a pet. one never really know for sure, but buying a pet or adopting one is never a sure thing that they are free from sickness.

a purebred dog from a reputable breeder , who has studied the genetics in his line is a better choice.. yorkies, and maltese ARE PUREBRED dogs…. do no pay for a maltipoo,, it is a mixed breed dog bred by an inferior poodle and and inferior maltese

I have seen maltipoo’s range from $1200 to $2500, Maltese for $250 to $600 and yorkshire terrier’s $300 to $800. If you are looking for a great companion, even though it is pure breed, a Schnauzer ranges from $100 to $250. They don’t shed, have no dander, are very affectionate, loyal companions.

Yorkies and Maltese are pure breds and maltipoo is a designer mutt that you will get overcharged for. There are MANY small breeds available for adoption.

  9. Nurse Autumn Intactivist NFP says:

Ok, first off, if you go to a RESPONSIBLE breeder, then the dog is no more likely to have health problems than a mutt. ( If they adevertise in the newspaper 99% of the time the are NOT a responsible breeder)
Second, you make it sound like you dont have enough money to take care of a dog. You certainly don’t need to be rich to have a dog, but money for high quality food and vet care, especially emergency vet care, are a must.
Third, PLEASE don’t go to a so called “breeder” to buy a MIXED breed. It is a scam that you pay out the a s s for a mutt that isnt hypoallegenic and the “breeder” is contributing to the millions of unwanted pets dying daily in shelters.
If you want to adopt a “multipoo” or other poodle cross from a shelter then that is TOTALLY ok!
If you want to get a great dog for not alot of money, then go to you local pound. There ane MANY wonderful dogs waiting for great homes there
If you haven’t done this yet, go to YAHOO! and type in “dog breed selector” Several questionnaires will come up. They will ask you about your lifestyle and preferences. This should give you a good idea about the breed good for you. Once you get it narrowed down, go to akc.com and look at the breed standard. then you may want to volunteer at a shelter or rescue so you can meet the dogs in person and see if you connect. Another resource might be to go to a dog show.

Yorkie is a pure breed i have a one and hes a babe, here in the UK you can pay between 200 and 600 pounds, so just double that in dollars and knock a few off.
Yorke’s can get a double lot of teeth which need removing so another vets bill.
They also need there ears kept clear be removing the hair, also you cant clip there nails because you cannot see how far up to clip because there dark, also you have to keep there back side kept clean as there hairy dirty tends to cling there and upset the dog.
Just a few things to be going on with, plus injetcions ect………… please don’t buy a dog unless you have the money to care for it.

go to your local animal shelter and they have all kinds of dogs that are praying for a new good home. they usually have a small fee but its way less then what you would normally pay for a dog.
